Some people have pet openings. I have a pet who plays openings.
Max sat down at the board after I had made the moves 1. e4 e5 2. f4 Bc5 3. Nf3 d6 4. Nc3 Nf6 5. Bc4 Nc6 6. d3 Bg4, and he proceeded to play 7. Rb1!
All I can say is, I’ve seen some computer moves that made less sense.

Yep, that definitely is a novelty – don’t see it in my database.
Too bad he didn’t push a pawn – you could have called it “en pawsant”.
Amazing move. Entirely another CATegory of play! Cheers, Max!
