Why does it have to be one or the other extreme?
Even the big things are really just a collection of small things.
Life is about a lot of things, some big, some small. The big things are lving well, living long and dying well. Living well means loving life, people, animals, things (such as chess). Living long means living enough to become wise and grateful for everything and everyone you have in your life. Dying well means going peacefully, sorrounded by family, friends and lovers. The small things are the atoms and molecules of the big things: such as small gestures that demonstrate love (a word, a touch, a smile), or a prayer of gratitude, or a selfless act of giving. Those are the big and small things life is all about.
Dana…have you ever seen one of your cats concerned about a big thing or a small thing? I know my dog is only concerned about what is.
I suspect that the cats and dogs have it right…concerning one’s self about what is,
is what life is all about…other than that, from my perspective, all is illusion
