A couple weeks ago I got an exciting e-mail from Carina Jørgensen, a long-time reader of this blog. She received a commission for chess-related art from J.C. Hallman, author of The Chess Artist, and she has posted the final work on her website, CarlinArt. Longtime readers of this blog know that the longest-running discussion thread we ever had here was in response to my review of Hallman’s book. It’s nice to see that this discussion produced something more than hot air, it actually led to Carina connecting up with J.C. (or vice versa) and getting some work.
Also, Carina says in her web page that she is finishing up her studies in multimedia design this spring, and she hopes to find a way to come to America this summer, probably Florida. If any of you know of any chess clubs in Florida, or know of any companies that need a graphic designer, please give Carina a shout.
Today I found out via another blog that ChessLecture’s own David Vigorito has gotten engaged, and will get married on June 14! Here is the wedding website that his fiancee, Heather, has set up on ewedding.com. Note the picture of the two of them together, her looking happy and him looking like a clueless bachelor who does not know what he has gotten himself into. Congratulations, David, and good luck!

Aww thanks, Dana. 😀
The very best thing about it, is actually that Glenn has become a very good friend who has sent me loads of chess material that I’m studying right now. It’s going to have a big impact on my game in just a few months from now.
So all in all, your review turned out to be fantastic.
