What did we ever do before the Internet? Today (4/27/2015) I ate my breakfast, opened up my daily Facebook, and there was a picture of a very happy-looking Jesse Kraai at a wedding, which appeared to be his own. This photo is from Salman Azhar, who was apparently sitting in the second row:
Although the news came as a complete surprise to me, I’m delighted and I think it’s a great match. Jesse’s bride is Katherine Sharpe. They have been together for about two years, I believe. I’ve met her once, and she struck me as a very friendly and no-nonsense sort of person.
Aside from that I don’t have any details, but as soon as I saw the picture I knew I had to write a blog post. This follows in my tradition of matrimonial blog posts, beginning with Chess and Marriage (about David Vigorito’s wedding) and Elizabeth Vicary Gets Hitched! The latter one was for a long time my most-read or second-most-read blog post. I wonder if people kept discovering it and thinking it was news. That’s why I have put the date prominently at the top of this entry.
By the way, I do in fact have some slightly fresher news about Elizabeth Spiegel (née Vicary), and it also comes via Facebook. About a month ago she announced that she is pregnant with her second child! Her first, Noah, was born on November 4, 2013, which is pretty easy for me to remember because it’s my birthday. Her second child (assuming everything goes well) will be a girl, and she is expected to arrive in September.
And that wraps up our gossip column for today.

Jesse and his wife are taking an extended honeymoon to Europe. I don’t know all the particulars but I believe they are going to Paris and Sicilily and, I assume, some other places along the way. Sounds alright to me!
