I’m sure that some of you have noticed that I haven’t posted in a couple weeks. The main reason is that I’ve been pretty busy doing my real job. I have made some time for chess (studying the games from my last tournament, in Reno) but not for chess blogging.
I’ve been a little bit surprised by the Reno games. A couple games that I thought of as not too great actually turned out to be better played than I thought. There was a rook-and-pawn endgame where I thought my opponent just lost his mind, sacrificing a pawn with no compensation. But it turns out that he was probably losing already. His mistakes were earlier, and they were fairly subtle. That game will make a good blog post eventually. (Or a ChessLecture.)
But not today! Today I have a brand new cat video to show you. You have to put up with this punishment because my chess blog is the only place where I can announce to the world when I put up a new YouTube video. It’s called “Pop-Up Kitty.”
The music is called “Smiles and Chuckles,” and I hope the video gave you some of both. The URL is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6TNGRZciVMg. By the way, the kitten in the video (Obie) just went back to the shelter today, and we have high hopes for his being adopted very quickly.
